Ana M. Quintero, MD is a second year Pediatric Infectious Disease fellow at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) in Columbus, OH. After she received her medical degree at Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia, she completed her pediatric residency training at Universidad CES, Cali, Colombia, where she received the Outstanding Resident Award and served as Chief Resident.
Her primary research at the Center for Vaccines and Immunity, at NCH, focuses on evaluating the mucosal immune response to SARS-CoV-2 infection in children and its association with clinical outcomes. In addition, she is analyzing the differences in clinical presentations and the pattern of antimicrobial resistance of viridans group streptococci blood stream infections in pediatric oncology and transplant recipients compared with immunocompetent patients. Ana plans to continue conducting clinical and translational research, with the ultimate goal of becoming and independent physician scientist.
