Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
  • explain the role of non-neutralizing antibodies in mediating protection or promoting pathologic responses against HSV and SARS-CoV-2
  • discuss what type of vaccine responses are needed to protect against HSV disease in neonates, children and adults and how the virus evades these immune responses
  • identify immunologic responses to SARS-CoV-2 that differ in children and adults and how this contributes to protection against COVID-19 disease
