Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

discuss the impact of maternal COVID-19 on pregnancy and the neonate and the evolution of perinatal management of SARS-CoV-2 infection
discuss the key infrastructure needed to rapidly study novel pathogens in pregnancy and newborns
explain how the management of maternal HSV infection in the perinatal period affects viral transmission to the neonate, including data on emerging characteristics of maternal HSV infection that may put the neonate at higher risk
