Dr. Gabriela Zambrano obtained her Medical degree from the International University of Ecuador UIDE, coursed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Metropolitan Hospital of Quito (Pontificate Catholic University of Ecuador Program), where she was the second-best graduate of her class. She also has a master's degree in Infectious Diseases and master's degree in Education for Health Professionals MEPS at the Instituto Universitario Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, as well as a master's Diploma in Superior Education. She also completed the ESTHER Master's degree at the Rey Juan Carlos University on the human immunodeficiency virus and a master’s degree in Sexually Transmitted Diseases from the Open University of Catalunya.
Author of more than 10 scientific articles published in both local and international indexed journals on infectious diseases and autoimmunity
Past leader of the Internal Medicine service of the General Teaching Hospital of Calderón (2016 – 2017), former attending physician responsible for the Antibiotic Optimization Program and Infections Control (2018-2019).
Past leader of the COVID-19 unit of the IESS San Francisco Hospital during the pandemic from January to July 2021.
Leader of the Multidisciplinary Consensus for the management and treatment of COVID-19, group whose document was adopted by the Public Health Ministry of Ecuador as the official guideline for the management of COVID-19.
Currently a professor and researcher at the International University as Chair of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Professor of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Clinical Propaedeutic of Family and Community Medicine at the Central University of Ecuador UCE.
CEO of MEDINTEAM adult differential diagnosis center in the CITIMED medical center. Tutor of several postgraduate thesis on antibiotic optimization programs at the community level.
