Martin E. Stryjewski is a 52 years-old physician who trained in University of Buenos Aires
(medical degree and internal medicine) and Duke University Medical Center (NC, USA;
Infectious Diseases Fellowship and Master in Health Sciences). Dr. Stryjewski has conducted extensive research on new antibacterials, bacteremia/endocarditis, skin and soft tissue infections and tuberculosis. He actually works as the Head of
Inpatients at an academic center (CEMIC) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he does patient care,
research and management. Dr. Stryjewski is an Associate Professor of both Medicine and
Infectious Diseases and has received several grants from different sources including the National
Institutes of Health (NIH, USA). He is part of the Board Member of the Argentinean Society of
Infectious Diseases (SADI) and was a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America
(IDSA). He has published around 100 papers in peer-review journals and several book chapters. Dr. Stryjewski is now organizing and leading different lines of research on COVID-19 in Argentina.
