Dr. Erica N. Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics (Greek) from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and a fellowship in infectious disease at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. She is board certified in internal medicine and infectious disease as well as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Disease Society of America. She currently serves as Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and is active at the national level in the Academic Alliance of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She remains clinically active in general infectious diseases, HIV medicine and internal medicine, and has numerous academic presentations and peer-reviewed manuscripts focusing on the care of patients infected with HIV and wounded military personnel with trauma related infections. She has been recognized with numerous research, teaching and community service awards including the Maryland ACP Chapter’s C. Lockard Conley Award, San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium Lieutenant General PK Carlton Outstanding Faculty Award and the Women of Color Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Conference Technology Rising Star Award.
