Dr. Lampiris is the Chief of the Infectious Disease Section, Medical Service, at the San Francisco VA Health Care System, where he is the Director of tthe Infectious Disease Clinic and the Chair of the Infection Control Committee. He is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at UCSF, a member of the UCSF Academy of Medical Educators and the Associate Program Director for the UCSF Infectious Disease Fellowship Program. He has received the UCSF ID Fellowship Program Vincent Pons Clinical Teaching Award and the George S. Sarlo Teaching Award from the UCSF AIDS Research Institute. He is a member of the Board of Directors and the Program Committee of the American Conference for the Treatment of HIV (ACTHIV), and an Editoral Board Member of the IAS-USA Cases on the Web Series. His clinical interests include HIV Treatment and Complications and ID/HIV Graduate Medical Education, More recently he has led many of the Infectious Disease Clinical Response Activities related to COVID-19 at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, and he is a member of the UCSF Cross-Campus Infectious Disease Task Force on COVID-19 Infection.
