Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
  • evaluate components of effective antimicrobial stewardship programs and implement interventions in various healthcare settings
  • review and apply strategies for and implementing process and outcomes measures
  • apply antimicrobial stewardship interventions for unique populations, including outpatient settings, long-term care facilities, and pediatric populations
  • critically assess available data, including pharmacy and microbiology data, and informatics strategies needed to support antimicrobial stewardship in their institution
  • describe recent antimicrobial stewardship literature that could optimize their antimicrobial stewardship program
