Dr. Person completed her undergraduate degree at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, and her medical education at George Washington University School of Medicine in 2005. She then went on to Duke University Medical Center (DUMC) for training in internal medicine and later completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Duke University Medical Center. In 2010, she joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the Division of Infectious Diseases. Dr. Person works primarily at the Vanderbilt Comprehensive Care Clinic, providing primary care and HIV specialty care to persons living with HIV/AIDS. She served as the ID Fellowship Director at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and now is the Director of Education and Faculty Development for the ID Division. She also serves as the Clinical Director of the Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center (SE AETC). For the last 3 years, Dr. Person has proudly served as the Ryan White Medical Providers Committee co-Chair and is newly elected to the HIV Medicine Association's Board of Directors. Her areas of interest include HIV outcomes in Latin America, determining best practices for providing supportive health care for transgender individuals, medical education, and HIV advocacy.
