Teaching activities
Professor of Cardiology at Aix-Marseille Université, Marseilles Medical School since 1998.
Clinical activities
Head of the arrhythmia department of La Timone University Hospital of Marseilles which is a thousand bed academic hospital with adult and pediatric care activities.
The arrhythmia department is a tertiary referral center which offers full access to clinical and laboratory testing of cardiac arrhythmias. Apart from conventional pacing and electrophysiology the department offers complex cardiac pacing and defibrillation techniques, resynchronization therapy, leadless pacing, lead extractions, atrial fibrillation, complex atrial arrhythmias and ventricular tachycardia ablations. Pediatric arrhythmia are covered.
The department is particularly active in syncope evaluation and has developed a syncope clinic which evaluates complex cases of syncope as a tertiary referral center.
Research activities
Professor Deharo has particular interest in clinical electrophysiology research. The more recent publications of his group are in the field of syncope, lead extraction and interventional electrophysiology.
