Dr Susan Morpeth is an Infectious Diseases physician and Clinical Microbiologist at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand and an honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Auckland. She is involved in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic at local, regional and national levels in New Zealand. Dr Morpeth is the New Zealand lead on ASCOT ADAPT, an adaptive platform clinical trial of therapeutics for hospitalised patients with COVID-19 and an investigator in REMAP-CAP, an adaptive platform clinical trial of severe community-acquired pneumonia among patients in ICU. Other research interests include antimicrobial resistance and invasive bacterial diseases. Dr Morpeth is the current Chair of the NZ Microbiology Network and is also a member of the NZ branch of the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases and the NZ National Antimicrobial Committee.
