Biography
Dr. Mei Zeng is a professor of pediatrics and vice director of Department of Infectious Diseases of Children’s Hospital of Fudan University. She has 27 years of experience in management and clinical research of pediatric infectious diseases. Dr. Zeng was educated at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, where she obtained degrees in MD, PhD, as well as certification of senior specialist in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. She had a six-month pediatric infectious diseases training at BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver in Canada in 2008. Dr Zeng’s major areas of interest focus on the epidemiological studies of the role of different pathogens in vaccine-preventable infections, emerging and re-emerging infections, antimicrobial stewardship, and vaccine-related issues. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in China in 2019, Dr. Zeng has been leading the clinical team to manage all pediatric COVID-19 cases in the frontline in Shanghai. She is also assigned an expert member of Shanghai Municipal Clinical Management of COVID-19 working group.
