Dr. Rebecca Same is the Medical Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She grew up in Massachusetts and obtained her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 2007 before joining the Peace Corps as a health extension agent in Madagascar from 2007 to 2009. She then received her medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2014. She completed her residency in pediatrics in 2017 and her fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases in 2020, also at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In 2020, she joined the faculty of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Washington University School of Medicine. Her research interests include identifying optimal antimicrobial durations for common infections in children, antibiotic-associated adverse events, and quality improvement.
