Dr. Manjusha (Manju) Gaglani, Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics is the founding medical director of the “Center for Research in Vaccines and Infections (CRVI)” at Baylor Scott & White Health, Texas. She holds the titles of Inaugural Josephine Ballard Endowed Research Chair of Pediatrics at Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) and Professor of Medical Education and Practice at Texas A&M University College of Medicine in Temple (north of Austin) in Central Texas. Dr. Gaglani has performed the role of site principal investigator for NIH-, CDC- and industry-sponsored large phase 3 clinical vaccine trials in children and adults for Influenza, Meningococcal ACWY, TdaP, Hepatitis A and Herpes Simplex vaccines. For the past 10 years, she has been leading the Texas BSWH CRVI for the CDC US Ambulatory Influenza Vaccine Effectiveness Network study and the adult inpatient vaccine effectiveness network study (HAIVEN) as well as a two-year randomized controlled Flu VaxTrial comparing immunogenicity of egg-based and non-egg-based influenza vaccines in healthcare personnel. Dr. Gaglani has over 100 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals including four publications in the NEJM. She is the Section Chief, Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Chair of the Infection Prevention Committee at McLane Children’s Hospital Baylor Scott & White where she has also served as the medical director of the pediatric antimicrobial stewardship program. Dr. Gaglani currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Infectious Diseases and Immunization Committee of the Texas Pediatric Society, the Texas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a graduate of Seth GS Medical College, University of Bombay, India and completed her first pediatric residency training at Wadia Children’s and KEM Hospitals in Mumbai and the second at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. She completed her fellowship training in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Currently, Dr. Gaglani leads the Texas BSWH CRVI for four large CDC-sponsored influenza and COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness network studies in children and adults.
