Dr. Azar is trained in both Infectious Diseases (Yale) and Clinical Microbiology (Massachusetts General Hospital) and is currently an Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases at Yale University. His clinical and research interests focus on the application of emerging technologies for the diagnosis of infections in immunocompromised hosts including transplant recipients and in the diagnosis and management of invasive fungal infections. He is also the incoming ID fellowship program director with academic interests in fellow education and teaching diagnostic reasoning.
