Pharmacist and Clinical Microbiologist with a PhD in Health Sciences. Full Professor of Clinical and Medical Microbiology at the School of Medicine of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR). Coordinator of the Specialization Course in Clinical Bacteriology.

Researcher in Molecular Bacteriology, Taxonomy and Antimicrobial Resistance at the Central Public Health Laboratory of Paraná - LACEN / PR.

Member of the Technical Chamber for Antimicrobial Resistance - Brazilian National Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) and external consultant of the Ministry of Health for BR-GLASS (Brazilian Chapter of the Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System).

General Coordinator of BrCAST – Brazilian Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test.

Research interests: antimicrobial resistance surveillance - especailly carbapenemases; taxonomy of atypical enterobacterales - including Phytobacter spp.;
